3.55pm: Good afternoon and welcome to Express Sport’s live coverage of Roger Federer vs Hubert Hurkacz.
It’s the quarter-final stage of the men’s draw and the two highest remaining seeds, Novak Djokovic and Federer, both play on Centre Court.
Djokovic has just defeated Marton Fucsovics to reach the semi-finals with Federer soon to come on to court.
Federer, seeded sixth, won his last match in straight sets as he saw off Lorenzo Sonego with relative ease.
And while Hurkacz is expected to put up a sterner test today, the 20-time Grand Slam champion will fancy his chances of reaching the semis.
We’ll bring you live updates throughout the afternoon.
Hurkacz insists it is an honour to face off with Federer on the iconic Wimbledon grass this afternoon.
He is 0-1 against the Swiss having lost their only previous match-up at Indian Wells in 2019, going down 6-4, 6-4.
And Hurkacz said: “Playing on this unbelievable court, the best court in the world with this magnificent crowd, is so special and means a lot to me.
“For this sport, Roger is unbelievable, what he does, how he plays, and the titles he has won throughout his career.
“He inspired so many people and it’s going to be fun, but I’m hoping to get a little bit of support.”
Hurkacz is the 14th seed for this tournament but before the grass-court Slam had never got past the second round of a major.
The Pole, 24, won the Miami Open for his maiden Masters 1000 title earlier this year though and claimed wins over Denis Shapovalov, Milos Raonic, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Andrey Rublev in Florida.
Here at Wimbledon he has seen off Lorenzo Musetti, Marcos Giron, Alexander Bublik and No 2 seed Daniil Medvedev.
Hurkacz only finished his match with Medvedev yesterday after rain interrupted play on Court Two on Monday.
He resumed play on Centre Court and was able to beat the Russian 2-6, 7-6 (7-2), 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.
