    RuPaul to executive produce international drag queen singing competition show Queen Of The Universe hosted by Graham Norton


    America’s reigning drag queen diva RuPaul has another project on the roster – the Paramount+ series Queen Of The Universe.

    Queen Of The Universe is an upcoming drag queen singing competition show hosted by Graham Norton who will preside over an international set of contestants.

    And in a new trailer for the program released this Tuesday it emerged that Ru, best-known for the show RuPaul’s Drag Race, is an executive producer.

    While RuPaul’s Drag Race is famous for its lip-sync performances, Graham can be seen assuring fans in the trailer: ‘There will be no lip-syncing.’

    All the contenders, some of whom have been on Drag Race before, will have to demonstrate their own vocal chops.

    The trailer emphasizes the global character of the contestants who hail from countries as far-flung as Mexico, France, India and the United States.

    Michelle Visage who has built a devoted fan base on the judging panel of RuPaul’s Drag Race will be a judge on Queen Of The Universe as well.

    In the new show she joins pop acts Vanessa Williams and Leona Lewis at the bench, plus drag queen Trixie Mattel of Drag Race fame.

    A contestant list provided by TV Line shows that the stars of the first season will include London-based drag queen La Voix who has been on Britain’s Got Talent. 

    Rani Ko-HE-Nur, who is from Bombay and won Mr. Gay India in 2014, tearfully said onstage in the trailer: ‘In India, I don’t get to do this.’ 

    Regina Voce of Mexico City, Matante Alex of Montreal, Woowu of Guangzhou, Leona Winter of Alex and Grag Queen of Canela are also among the competitors.

    So are Betty B****slap of Copenhagen, Gingzilla of Sydney, Aria B Cassadine of Atlanta and Chy’enne Valentino of Chicago.

    RuPaul won an Emmy for the first time in 2016 for Drag Race – months after famously remarking to Vulture that he would ‘rather have an enema than have an Emmy.’ 

    After getting nominated ‘Mama Ru’ was asked about the quote during a Slate interview and joked in response: ‘Well, it depends on who’s administering the Emmy. Or who’s administering the enema.’
