Food recalls are issued when a product is unsafe for customers to use. For example, if an item contains an ingredient not mentioned on the label, it could cause harm to someone with allergies.

Sainsbury’s described the product as: “Original pieces of Chicken Portions coated with a Southern Fried style coating, made to our secret recipe of herbs and spices.”

The chicken pieces come in a box 700g in size and all best before dates up to and including September 30, 2022, are affected.

    All barcodes are also affected.

The supermarket said: “SFC Wholesale Ltd are recalling their Original SFC Bargain Box 700g due to the presence of Buttermilk which is not declared on the packaging.

    DON’T MISS:

“We are asking all customers who have an intolerance to Dairy not to consume it and to return it to their nearest Sainsbury’s store where they will receive a full refund.

“No other products have been affected by this issue.”

The supermarket encouraged customers to get in touch with SFC Wholesale Ltd by email if they had a query.

    The appropriate email is customerservices@sfcwholesale.co.uk.

Another product being recalled is Sainsbury’s On the Go Spicy Chicken Pasta, which as a use by date of August 30, 2021.

This item contains milk not mentioned on the label, therefore it is a possible health risk for anyone who has an allergy or intolerance to milk.

Mr Porky Scratchings and Mr Porky Crispy Strips, which are sold in Sainsbury’s and other major supermarkets, are also being recalled due to them possibly containing salmonella.

Salmonella symptoms include diarrhoea, vomiting, and fever.

Sainsbury’s is also recalling its Hypoallergenic Recipe complete dry cat food with Salmon, as well as with Chicken.

There is a possible safety issue with the foods affecting cats.

With all products affected, Sainsbury’s is encouraging customers to return any item they have bought to their nearest store for a full refund.
