Matildas captain Sam Kerr’s blossoming new romance with US soccer star Kristie Mewis is certainly heating up.
And on Monday, she showed the playful side of their relationship when she shared sweet photos of the couple cuddling up during a date at Mother’s Bistro & Bar in Portland, Oregon in the US.
She had her armed wrapped around the blonde beauty, 30, in one photo, which was then followed with another of Sam kissing Kristie’s forehead.

The Australian soccer star, who plays forward for Chelsea F.C. Women, used a love heart and fire emoji in the caption.
Kristie responded in the comments: ‘Hates the pictures then, but loves them now,’ hinting that Sam had second thoughts about the images before posting them.
The sweet photos come after Kristie shared a photo of herself in a bikini kissing Sam as they soaked up the sun in a swimming pool.

In August, Sam confirmed their romance earlier this month by sharing a Polaroid photo on Instagram of Kristie sitting on her lap as they passionately kissed.

The footballers had sparked romance rumours at the Tokyo Olympics, after Kristie comforted Sam on the field following the Matildas’ 4-3 defeat to Team USA during the bronze-medal match.
At one stage, Kristie nuzzled her face into Sam’s shoulder as she wrapped an arm around her back in return.
Speculation about the nature of their relationship spread like wildfire across social media – especially after it was revealed Sam had recently ended her seven-year romance with Chicago Red Stars player Nikki Stanton.

Sources close to both Nikki and Sam confirmed their split to The Daily Telegraph, and both women have unfollowed each other on social media.
‘Sam was the one who ended things and Nikki was obviously upset but she is healing,’ a friend told the publication.
Meanwhile, a source revealed Sam was in good spirits in the Tokyo athletes’ village, saying: ‘If there is any sadness around the break up it certainly wasn’t evident.’
