    Samantha Jade pays tribute to Britney Spears with a cover of Crazy in celebration of her conservatorship ending


    Aussie singer Samantha Jade has paid tribute to pop princess Britney Spears after her conservatorship was quashed by an LA judge.

    Samantha, who is a lifelong fan of the Toxic star, performed an acoustic cover of the 1999 chart-topper Crazy (You Drive Me).

    She was accompanied by her friend Dan Maher on guitar.

    ‘I have been a fan of Britney since she graced our screens in those iconic pigtails in Baby One More Time all those years ago,’ Sam wrote in the caption.   

    ‘She is one of the greatest performers of all time and I know every lyric, ad lib and dance move off by heart.  

    She finished by saying Crazy was one of her favourite songs by Britney.

    ‘My friend Dan and I thought we would cover one of our favourite Britney songs in this video, hope you enjoy,’ she said.

    A number of Sam’s famous friends echoed similar sentiments about Britney, whose conservatorship sparked a human rights movement.

    ‘Love this!’ Jules Sebastian wrote. Bronte Campbell added: ‘Wow! What a cover.’

    An LA judge ordered an end to the conservatorship that has controlled Britney’ life – and $60million fortune – for the past 13 years just three days ago.   

    ‘The court finds that the conservatorship of the person and estate of Britney Jean Spears is no longer required,’ Judge Brenda Penny told a LA Superior court hearing.  

    ‘Therefore, as of today, the conservatorship is hereby terminated.’

    Judge Penny’s decision to dissolve the much-maligned legal arrangement comes two months after she fired the star’s dad, Jamie Spears, as the $16,000-a-month conservatorship boss who pulled the strings on his daughter’s career and welfare.

    The singer tweeted after the decision was announced: ‘Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy!

    ‘I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!! Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen.’
