    Sex And The City’s Willie Garson says it was ‘very hard’ to talk to Mikhail Baryshnikov during his time on the series: ‘He’s just very Russian’

    Willie Garson said it was ‘hard to make conversation’ with Mikhail Baryshnikov while working with the renowned dancer on Sex And The City.

    The 57-year-old actor told Us Weekly, about working with the 73-year-old dancer and choreographer, who had a recurring role on the show as Aleksandr Petrovsky.  

    ‘I’m not Russian, so it was very hard to make conversation with Mikhail. Not because he’s bad or mean, he’s just very Russian,’ he said.

    The White Collar actor offered an example of the exchanges, which tended to conclude abruptly. 

    ‘You’d say, like, “Misha, what’d you do last night?” and he would literally say, “Dinner,” but just kind of, like, ending the conversation,’ he recalled.

    Garson did not take offense to the actor’s demeanor and would often joke around with him to brighten the mood on set.

    He noted that he ‘would tell [Baryshnikov], “Well, I went to Studio 54 and did cocaine off of Grace Jones’ a** last night. So I had a better night.” No, I never [did that].’

    The performer made a point of expressing that the entire cast of Sex And The City was ‘very friendly’ during their time together.

    Garson’s comments come before the premiere of And Just Like That…, which will serve as a continuation to the original series.

    Development on the reboot was initially announced in December of last year.

    The continuation was officially greenlit the following month when it was confirmed that the show would consist of ten episodes.

    Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will be reprising their roles from the original series.

    However, Kim Cattrall, who portrayed Samantha Jones, will not be returning to appear in the continuation. 

    Sara Ramirez was later cast as a series regular this past May, which is also when Chris Noth was confirmed to be returning to his former role as Mr. Big.

    Garson will also appear as Stanford Blatch, who was last seen in the 2010 film, Sex And The City 2.

    Other performers who are set to be featured in the reboot include Sarita Choudhury and Nicole Ari Parker.

    Physical production on the series initially commenced this past June in New York City and is currently ongoing.

    And Just Like That… is currently set to be released on the HBO Max streaming service at an unspecified date in the future.
