Mel C, 48, has slammed Victoria Beckham’s claim she had her microphone turned off during live performances with the Spice Girls. In 2016, Victoria, who was known as Posh Spice during her time in the band, said she “had the last laugh” as her microphone was “well and truly turned on now” in the fashion world.

Addressing her claim, Mel, aka Sporty Spice, said her former bandmate actually has “an incredible voice” despite what people may think.

Speaking to Gogglebox stars George and Joe Bagg on their podcast. she spilled: “She really makes me mad when she says this because she really doesn’t have any confidence in her vocal ability and she should because she’s got an incredible voice.

“The truth of the matter is, none of us are amazing singers.

“You know what I mean? We’re all decent singers but we’re all…” she went on say before podcast host George interrupted.

On whether they fell out, the singer admitted “there were loads of fights” over the years.

“We were like sisters. We love each other but drive each other mad in equal measures.”

“There was the odd physical fight but it was mostly big old bust ups, you know what it’s like, but then you make up,” she added.

Geri was the first to leave the band in 1998, citing exhaustion and creative differences.

At the end of 2000, the rest of the group went on a hiatus to concentrate on their solo careers.

They reunited for two concert tours, the Return of the Spice Girls in 2007 and Spice World in 2019.

Victoria didn’t return to the stage on their most recent tour and hasn’t performed with the girls since 2012.

Speaking to Vogue Magazine about her decision, she said: “It took me a lot of courage not to go on tour with the Spice Girls again, but to be the one who says: ‘You know, I’m not doing it because things feel different now than they used to’.”

Victoria went on to say: “I’d rather concentrate on my family and my company. I’m 45 now and very happy to be the woman I am.”
