The royal couple have described how they would often check in on the Queen and Prince Philip at Windsor Castle. The senior royal, Prince Edward, added that the coronavirus lockdown was “staggeringly difficult” for his parents. Speaking to the Daily Telegraph Prince Edward said: “For them, life is so much about contact.
After the death of Prince Philip and the departure of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, Sophie Wessex said, “we are still a family no matter what happens, we always will be”.
Speaking about the sudden media attention on herself and her husband after the death of Prince Philip, she added: “We’ve plodded along doing what we’re doing, hopefully doing it well.
“And then all of a sudden there’s a bit of a hiatus and things have changed a bit.
“Naturally, the media are looking for people to fill the so-called void.
“If people want to pay more attention to what we’re doing, then great.”
