‘I gotta call him Seth Ragin’: Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham playfully reacts after Seth Rogen has an ‘Adele Dazeem’ moment and mispronounces her name at Emmy Awards

The Primetime Emmy Awards returned with a live audience for this year’s ceremony at the Event Deck at L.A. Live in Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday.

And with comedian Cedric the Entertainer playing host, the event was not without one of those mishaps where a presenter stumbles over a word or name.

This go-around the players involved Seth Rogen, who was on stage to reveal the winner for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series, and Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham… or is it Waddington, if you had asked Rogen the moment he shared the names of the nominees.

Whoops! Rogen, 39, said Waddington instead of Waddingham

Her take: Waddingham, 47, would react to Rogen's mishap backstage

Mishap: Seth Rogen mispronounced Hannah Waddingham’s name while presenting the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Comedy Series at the 2021 Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Sunday

Rogen’s gotcha moment started with the comedian walking out to the stage to a version of late rapper Biz Markie’s hit 1989 song Just A Friend playing.

He proceeded to garner some laughs from the audience with a string of jokes that included one about the Emmy ceremony being held indoors, in a tent, amid the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

‘Why is there a roof?’ Rogen said, before adding, ‘It’s more important that we have three chandeliers than that we make sure we don’t kill Eugene Levy tonight.’

He proceeded to mispronounce the winner’s name for supporting actress in a comedy series, saying Waddington instead of Waddingham.

Overjoyed! Waddingham didn't seem to care about the name mishap, as she was more concerned with soaking in the moment and thanking the show's cast and crew, especially leading man and co-creator Jason Sudeikis

The British actress took home the trophy for her role as Rebecca Welton on the Apple TV+ sports comedy-drama series Ted Lasso.

Beaming with pride and joy, Waddingham didn’t seem to care about the name mishap, as she was more concerned with soaking in the moment and thanking the show’s cast and crew, especially leading man and co-creator Jason Sudeikis.

‘Jason, you changed my life with this and more importantly my baby girl’s,’ Waddingham said of her first Emmy win.

‘I’m honestly so privileged to work with you. I really am.’

Response: Afterwards, Waddingham decided to have some fun and said, 'I gotta call him Seth Ragin', while talking to journalists backstage, according to Variety

Of course, many fans and viewers were quick to call out Rogen’s so-called ‘Adele Dazeem’ moment, which is a reference to John Travolta’s infamous mistake at the 2014 Academy Awards ceremony when he called Idina Menzel ‘Adela Dazeem.’

‘I’ve been beating myself up all day,’ Travolta said in a statement to E! News following at the time.

‘Then I thought… “What would Idina Menzel say?” She’d say, “Let it go, let it go!” Idina is incredibly talented and I am so happy Frozen took home two Oscars Sunday night!’

Special night: Waddingham was also proud to pose alongside her Ted Lasso co-star Brett Goldstein, who won the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series
