The Block’s Josh and Luke Packham reveal whether their unfinished living room was real after the judges unleashed at the ‘inexcusable pigsty’

The Block judges unleashed on Josh and Luke Packham during the living room reveals over the sorry state of their house.

And Josh was asked during an Instagram Q&A on Tuesday whether their messy home – and the experts’ outraged response to it – was real or just staged for drama.

‘The judging week where Shaynna [Blaze] said your place was a dump, was that real or faked?’ one fan asked.

Josh explained: ‘That was real but they weren’t judging the area so they obviously did that for drama.

‘You’ve got 15 to 20 [deliveries] coming in every week, materials are everywhere, furniture everywhere, so it was messy but it’s a job site.’

During the living room reveals last month, judges Neale Whitaker, Shaynna Blaze and Darren Palmer were livid over the state of Josh and Luke’s home.

The trio did not mince their words after having to walk through an ‘inexcusable pigsty’ of a living room to get to their unfinished study and ‘disastrous’ shower.

Judging went off to a great start when Neale, Shaynna and Darren were in awe of their roll-up garage door and the statement wall art featuring various race tracks.

However, things took a turn for the very worse when the design gurus walked through their living room – which was littered with boxes and even had a mattress thrown on top of the lounge in a haphazard fashion – in order to get to the stairwell.

Screwing up her face and referencing the rendering on one wall, Shaynna almost shouted, ‘What?! What have they done? That is appalling!’

Shaynna was also disgusted by the amount of dirt on the flat-screen TV, describing it as ‘ridiculous’, before becoming baffled over the mattress thrown on top of the sofa.

A furious Neale agreed, asking ‘Where is the bloody respect?’ from the twins.

‘I don’t care what the mattress is doing there. This makes me so angry,’ he raged.
