‘You could see our inflatable daffodil in the crowd!’: The Crown’s Emma Corrin reveals she attended Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding

The Crown star Emma Corrin has revealed she joined thousands in the crowd on the streets of London for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding in 2011.

The actress, 25, revealed she and a pal decided to go and join the masses to watch the celebration unfold after being ‘swept up’ by the couple’s love story.

Emma, who rose to fame thanks to her role as Princess Diana in The Crown’s fourth series last year, shared the hilarious story during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, having joined the wedding festivities when she was just a teenager.

Emma told Jimmy she and her friend brought along a large inflatable daffodil so they could spot themselves in the TV coverage following the wedding.

She explained the pair were amongst the thousands of well-wishes who flooded London to see the Royal procession from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Abbey, where William and Kate exchanged their vows.

Emma said: ‘I remember 10 years ago, I was 15, I was with my friend Katherine and we got very very swept up in the royal wedding fever I think probably because we were both very bored and very single. So we decided to go.’

She went onto confess she purchased a DVD based on William and Kate’s love story, which was ‘so bad that it’s so good.’

The actress added: ‘We were so excited because my friend Katherine had this great inflatable daffodil.

‘I remember that when we were watching the footage back to see if we could get a glimpse of ourselves, we couldn’t see ourselves but we did see, in the middle of these crowds, this massive inflatable daffodil that she was holding up.’

Last week, Emma shared a series of throwback snaps with her My Policeman co-stars as she celebrated filming coming to an end on their LGBT movie.

Taking to Instagram, the actress quipped, ‘aaaaand that’s a falafel wrap baaaaby’ alongside the shots.

In the first shot, Emma threw it back to a day when the cast had been filming at a pool, showing herself clad in a swimsuit while co-star Harry Styles donned red trunks.

The pair – who play husband and wife in the film – sat on lifeguards chairs by the side of the pool alongside producer Robbie Rogers and filmmaker Michael Grandage.

It was no doubt an emotional moment for the cast and crew after they spent the last few months filming My Policeman in Brighton.

Harry takes the lead in the new movie which is set in Brighton in the 1950s, and based on Bethan Roberts’ novel, focusing on police officer Tom, who is gay, but married to Marion (Emma) due to societal expectations.

The film follows him as he goes on to have a decades-long affair with museum curator Patrick Hazelwood, played by David.
