The Top Gear frontman will jump through a ring of fire in tonight’s episode in a special tribute to stuntman Eddie Kidd OBE. The show will see Paddy wearing special motorbike leathers and pulling off the death-defying stunt in a must-see for petrolheads and thrillseekers.
“I think for his family and the stunt riders who performed it was a big moment.
“Eddie had no idea that he was the reason all those performers got into it.
“That sequence is a terrific journey. It’s very cinematic and the music’s great. It’s a treat of a film.”
Eddie was left paralysed after an accident in 1996 which ended his riding career.
Most notably, he did work for Pierce Brosnan in James Bond’s GoldenEye and for Roger Moore and Michale Caine in Bullseye!
Paddy McGuiness added the stunt was “the most emotional thing” he has done since starting on Top Gear.
The new series of Top gear starts tonight on BBC Two at 8pm.
