‘If men can have casual sex, why can’t I?’ TOWIE star Chloe Brockett defends her right to enjoy casual romps after Liam Gatsby branded her a ‘bike’
TOWIE favourite Chloe Brockett has spoken out at her refusal to be ‘slut-shamed’ for enjoying casual sex.
The reality star, 20, was criticised for having casual hook-ups with her fellow TOWIE co-stars but the confident star refuses to be shamed for enjoying sex whilst single.
Chloe defended her decision after she was called a ‘bike’ by fellow cast member Liam Gatsby on the hit TV show.
Hitting back: TOWIE favourite Chloe Brockett has spoken out at her refusal to be ‘slut-shamed’ for enjoying casual sex
Speaking on the podcast Who Wants to Adult Anyway?, the star said that ‘she has had enough of women being made to feel like sluts for sleeping with someone outside of a relationship.’
Gatsby made the offensive jibe after cast member Frankie Sims asked if she’d ‘ever had a boyfriend’ after the girls had rowed about her on/off relationship with Jack Fincham.
Chloe also came under fire for having a fling with James Lock even though he was in an on/off relationship with now ex girlfriend Yasmin Oukhellou.
She said ‘Growing up I went to a school where it wasn’t the thing to have sex – and if you were you were a slut.’
‘I was 17 when I lost my virginity because I was so worried losing it at school over what people would say about me.

‘Now with everything that’s going on in Towie and people are talking about my sex life, I think 16-year-old me would think it’s the worst thing that’s ever going to happen to me.
‘But not one person approached Lockie and said ‘oh my god you dirty little slut’.
‘There was one cast member who said to me ‘don’t you regret it? Why don’t you just say you regret it and it’ll look better for you’.
Who cares: Chloe has asked ‘does the number of sexual partners I’ve had make me a bad person? ‘
She continued ‘But who even cares? There are so many boys who say they won’t go out with someone who’s slept with however many people.
‘I’m 20, I’m a business woman, I do well for myself, oh and I’ve slept with a few people – does that make me a bad person?
‘People are getting better at thinking a woman can do what a man can do, but I do think there’s still that glass ceiling where they think it’s more acceptable for a man to do something than a woman.
‘Girls can do what they like.’
Chloe says the latest TOWIE series has focused on gossip surrounding her sexual relationships.
But she hopes it will help shine a light on how women are made to feel shame over their sex lives.
She said ‘It wasn’t TOWIE’s intention, but because of the cast members’ dislike of me, it got carried around that way,’
Fling: Chloe enjoyed a brief fling with fellow cast member James and was labelled a ‘bike’ because of it (pictured last month)
