But Tyson Fury seemed to be in fighting spirit as he transformed into a Roman soldier as he headed out for a Halloween fancy dress party in Manchester on Saturday.
The professional boxer, 33, was joined by his wife, who looked exceptional as she dressed up as the popular Batman villain The Joker for the bash.
The Gypsy King flaunted his muscular physique as he went shirtless, only donning red trousers, black boots, a brown belt and a fur cloak slung across his shoulders.

He channelled his inner warrior spirit as he wielded an axe and sported a galea, a helmet traditionally wore by Roman gladiators.
Meanwhile, his wife Paris, 31, cut a sophisticated figure in a purple suit and a yellow crop top as she dressed up as Batman supervillain The Joker.
She completed her spooky ensemble by spraying her normally blonde tresses green and sporting cabaret-style clown make-up.
The mother of six added a touch of glamour to her Halloween costume by wearing a pair of elegant platform heels as she carried a cane, the signature accessory Jared Leto sported as the Joker in Suicide Squad.

Their Halloween outing comes just days after Paris revealed she hid a miscarriage from her husband.
Paris told how she had to put her own feelings aside and keep the news to herself because Fury was hours away from competing in a big fight.
The mother of six, who has spoken previously about the decision, said Fury had been preparing for the comeback fight for two-and-a-half years when she discovered she was losing their unborn child.
Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of This Morning, the wife of the world heavyweight champion told presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about her decision to keep the news a secret.
She explained she briefly kept the devastating news to herself because she didn’t want to ‘derail’ her husband from the fight which lay ahead of him that day.
The fight Paris referenced during the candid interview was Tyson’s comeback match against Albanian Sefer Seferi in 2018.

Paris also said that she broke down in her car in a bid to cope with the devastating news before supporting Tyson ahead of the milestone fight.
‘He (Tyson), had just gone through all his issues and he was having his first comeback fight. He hadn’t fought in two and a half years because of all that.’
She added: ‘I was about eight weeks pregnant. Then on the day of the fight I knew I’d lost our baby.’
‘I didn’t mention it to Tyson before he went in the ring. Then straight after I told him and the next day we went to the hospital and it was confirmed’.
‘Five weeks later we fell pregnant again.’
Meanwhile, Dillian Whyte cast doubt over a potential match-up with Tyson Fury early next year as the heavyweight hopeful warned that the Gypsy King may decide to retire instead of step in the ring again.

Whyte, 33, is in pole position to face Fury next following the Briton’s dramatic win over Deontay Wilder this month, with the WBC expected to order the all-British fight.
A bout in February is anticipated and will finally see Whyte have a crack at the heavyweight title, having been on the cusp of a shot for the past couple of years.
But Whyte says that a fight with Fury is not a certainty and that the unpredictable Fury may decide to hang up his gloves after his blockbuster trilogy against Wilder.
‘The Tyson Fury fight is a fight that I wanted, it’s a fight I tried to get before,’ Whyte said. ‘[It was] Mandated for belts and it didn’t happen. And fortunately for me now, it seems like it’s gonna go ahead.
‘But you can never bank on anything Tyson Fury says. because he might say, ‘You know what I’ve had enough I don’t want to fight anymore.’ Or he might say, ‘I need a longer rest.’
And earlier this week, Ricky Hatton said he would be happy to see Fury hang up his gloves to protect his legacy.

Hatton insists Fury has already proven his worth in the sport, and believes that if it’s not against Joshua or Usyk, any fight is now an unnecessary risk, both for his legacy and, more importantly, his health.
He said: ‘He deserves it as well. I’m sure his wife Paris doesn’t want to see him stood there getting knocked on his arse every five minutes. Tyson’s done his job now as far as I’m concerned.
‘It’s a shame if the AJ fight doesn’t happen, and if it does it has to happen quickly, because Tyson’s ready for hanging up his gloves now. As his friend, I want him to hang them up – he’s got nothing left to prove.’
Fury cemented his status as the division’s undoubted No 1 as he finally put his long-term rivalry with the Bronze Bomber to bed earlier in October, surviving two heavy knockdowns before delivering a brutal 11th-round knockout in an all-time classic.
Up next could have been an historic all-British undisputed showdown against unified champion Anthony Joshua, but those plans were at least momentarily derailed as he lost his WBA, WBO and IBF titles to the Ukrainian enigma, Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury’s duo of promoters Frank Warren and Bob Arum have called for Joshua to step aside and allow for an immediate undisputed match-up between the division’s two top, a suggestion that was laughed off by Eddie Hearn, who instead confirmed a rematch will take place early next year.
In the meantime, Fury, who has not fought in the UK since 2018, will likely make his homecoming at a similar time against one of Dillian Whyte or Joe Joyce.
There seems a logical plan: Fury, so long as he emerges victorious, fights the winner of Joshua and Usyk for all the belts.
But Hatton, who thinks Warren and Arum have a case in their plea, stresses it’s not that straightforward.
‘There’s only one fight on Tyson’s mind, which is the AJ fight,’ Hatton told Sportsmail. ‘But if I could rule boxing, I would let Tyson fight Usyk, because at the end of the day they’re the top two. I’d let AJ have a warm-up fight and then fight the winner.
‘But this is what’s ruining boxing: it should be Tyson, you fight your fight and AJ you fight yours and the winner will box each other. But no, you’ve then got to give a rematch, maybe even two rematches.

‘It’s ruining the game. Wilder should never have got a third fight; if he’d put in a fantastic performance in the second, then he gets the rematch. It should be based on performance.
‘It puts the main fights we want on the back burner, just because of contract issues. It’s a nonsense. All it needs, especially in heavyweight boxing, is one punch, one decision to change things and then fights won’t get made for another three years.’
‘Tyson’s proved himself,’ Hatton said. ‘He’s had that trilogy with Wilder, he beat (Wladamir) Klitschko. Tyson’s not like AJ; he’s suffered from depression, drinks and drugs and all he now wants is the defining fights and to get out the game.
‘Let’s have it right, if Tyson wants to retire he’s got nothing more to prove. The only thing that Tyson wants to know in his own mind, just like AJ does, is who the best out of he and AJ is.
‘But Tyson can’t wait another two years while he fights him and he fights him, he’ll want to be in and out now.’
