The low pressure which caused storms yesterday is still with us today, centred around Orkney and Shetland.

The Met Office has warned that Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Northern Ireland, County Antrim, County Down, County Londonderry, SW Scotland, Lothian Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Strathclyde, Argyll and Bute, North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire will be affected by the yellow weather warning today.

Winds will gust at 50 and 60 mph along coasts, perhaps reaching 70 mph in the most exposed spots.
