Valerie Bertinelli showed fans what she looked like after a spa treatment over the weekend.
The One Day At A Time actress, 61, was makeup free with a very red face after getting a Vampire Facial, which was made popular by Kim Kardashian on Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
‘I just had my second vampire facial. It’s a little redder than last time. It feels like a really really bad sunburn,’ Bertinelli said. ‘Does your face hurt, cause it’s killing me,’ she added with a laugh. ‘Ohhh vanity.’

The images were posted to her Instagram Story.
A Vampire Facial is when blood is takeout out of a client’s face they re-injected for a more youthful appearance. The procedure costs about $1,500.
It increases the turnover of skin cells, improving skin tone and texture.
Microneedling with PRP will also reduce fine lines and signs of aging. This treatment can be especially helpful for those who suffered from acne and have visible acne scars or skin damage from prolonged exposure to the sun, according to the Columbia Skin Clinic.
Valerie, who has a show on the Food Network, got her facial at the iSkin Med Spa.

A vampire facial is a combination of microneedling and platelet-rich plasma (PRP), according to the clinic.
Microneedling uses short, fine needles to puncture the skin. These needles range in size from .5 to 2.5 millimeters. Rest assured, the needles feel like tiny pinpricks and only go skin-deep.
The pricks are used to “injure” the skin, prompting your skin to heal itself by producing elastin and collagen, and allowing the PRP to penetrate deeper.
Once the microneedling is completed, PRP is applied to your skin topically. PRP is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein produced from blood. PRP has a large concentration of growth factors, helping tissue to heal and repair, treating all types of skin issues.
Microneedling with PRP is administered in an office setting, the clinic shared. The first step is the initial blood draw, which is relatively painless. Your blood is then placed in a centrifuge to separate the plasma and platelets from the red blood cells.
Before the microneedling portion of the treatment begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the face to manage any discomfort of the needling.
Once the numbing cream is active and the microneedling has been completed, the PRP is rubbed on the skin. The PRP should remain on the skin for the rest of the day to maximize results. Patients will notice dry, red, sensitive skin, much like a light sunburn for the first few days after treatment.
Kim Kardashian was one of the first to share with fans what the process was like, even posting a photo with blood all over her face.
This comes after Valerie cried on social media after trolls criticized her for the shape of her body.
She asked her followers how some people can be so ‘cruel.’
In May 2020 Bertinelli talked about her weight fluctuations.
She told People that while she worked ‘very, very hard’ to lose 50lbs to look great in swimwear, she wishes she had worked even harder on her mental health.
‘There’s a lot of pride and a lot of shame associated with that cover,’ she told the People referring to her 2009 bikini cover for that magazine.
‘I worked really, really, really hard. Physically definitely. I wish to God I had worked just as hard on my mental shape.’
The star had lost the 50lbs because she was a spokesperson for Jenny Craig.
It took months to get that thin and it was the first time she had posed in a bikini in many years.
But at the time the One Day At A Time star was still battling her feelings about her body image.
In the 11 years since she posed for the cover, Valerie’s battle with fluctuating weight and emotional eating have continued, with the TV star telling People: ‘When I don’t work on what’s eating me, I’m going to start eating.’

The TV star has spent much of her life ‘always trying to be better… thinner, nicer, prettier’, and she says she is ‘angry’ about all of the time she has ‘wasted’ obsessing over her weight as a result of the intense scrutiny and criticism she faced as a child.

Although Valerie, who is a spokesperson for Jenny Craig, has now reached a place where she is learning to be feel more comfortable in her own skin, she admits that it took a long time to get there.
In January, she said that she was determined to focus more on maintaining a healthy body and mind, explaining at the time that she had started following a new diet and workout regimen that she hoped would help her to achieve that balance.
‘I just feel really positive about 2020,’ she told Today at the start of the year. ‘I feel like it’s a new dawn.’
In January, Valerie confessed that she was following a new healthy lifestyle routine, one that she hoped might not only help her to ‘lose a few pounds’ but also enable her to ‘feel better about her life’.
