Valtteri Bottas set for Mercedes talks as George Russell expected to join Lewis Hamilton

The Finn would undoubtedly benefit from some level of certainty around his future, with F1 seats particularly scarce.

The likes of Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin and Red Bull all seemingly have their drivers set in stone for 2022 which threatens to leave Bottas in limbo if he is ushered out of Mercedes, as expected.

Meanwhile, George Russell, a man eight years Bottas’ junior, is waiting in the wings to become wingman for the legendary Hamilton.

The 23-year-old Englishman has spent three years with Williams, as well as serving an apprenticeship of sorts with Mercedes which was as brief as it was dramatic.
