    Vinnie Jones slams The Masked Singer and says he wanted to ‘slap’ the production crew and the only part he enjoyed was when his ‘cheque cleared’


    Vinnie Jones has slammed The Masked Singer Australia, revealing he ‘doesn’t know what he was thinking’ when he signed up for the show. 

    The English-Welsh actor and former footballer, 56, told The Kyle and Jackie O show on Tuesday that he clashed with production staff ahead of his performance on Monday’s episode.   

    ‘You know what, as soon as the cheque clears, then the big stick comes out and they start whacking you on the a**e with it. They started bossing me around,’ he said.

    ‘It was an out of body experience. I wanted to give a few of them a backhander, little slap, but every time I wanted to do that, they put a cape over my head and I couldn’t see anyone.’

    Vinnie added that the most satisfying part of the experience was being paid for his appearance. 

    ‘The only part of trust that comes into this is when the cheque clears,’ he quipped.

    Vinnie went to claim that his song choices were ignored and he he refused to do rehearsals via Zoom. 

    ‘I felt like a boxer in the ring with my arms tied behind my back,’ he complained, adding that he was glad to be eliminated in round one. 

    ‘Thank god [I was eliminated]. I never thought getting my head ripped off would be so satisfying’, Vinnie said.

    The star was revealed to be the Volcano during Monday’s premiere episode of the new season. 

    He was eliminated after his take on The Proclaimers 80’s hit I’m Gonna Be failed to impress the show’s virtual audience. 

    Jones is best known for his roles in action films including Gone in 60 Seconds, Snatch and X Men: The Last Stand.  

    The Masked Singer continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel 10
