During an interview with the Golf Channel, Mr Koepka was discussing his performance in the recent PGA Championship. The video has since gone viral on social media due to an awkward interaction between the two golfers.

Speaking with Todd Lewis, a reporter with the Golf Channel, Mr Koepka was asked: “The golf course was asking a lot of you today Brooks, what were you able to do well and put up that nice number?”

Mr Koepka said: “Just ball struck my way around this place. I didn’t putt well, but I don’t think many guys are going to putt well with this wind – it’s very tough. I don’t know what other guys have said, I just found it very difficult to read. You know, sometimes…”

During his sentence, Mr Koepka appeared to get distracted by Mr DeChambeau walking towards him off camera.

Mr Koepka instantly lost his train of thought and froze on the spot, before proceeding to roll his eyes and let out a loud sigh as he struggled to hide his frustration.

Users on social media have been pointing out that when you listen to the footage closely, you can hear Mr DeChambeau mutter something as he walks past his competitor.

One person, claiming to have been at the interview, said: “Bryson walked by at the same time then said ‘maybe you should hit it on the right line’ under his breath.”

After the interaction, Mr Koepka tried to regain his composure but was unable to do so.

He added: “I f***ing lost my train of thought, hearing that bull***t.”

A third said: “I loved Brooks until I saw how bothered he was by Bryson? Be an adult, dude.”

This latest awkward interaction is the most recent in the frosty relationship of the golf stars, who have previously made digs at each other on social media.

Many avid golf fans believe the tension could stem from an unprovoked mark from Mr DeChambeau, when he body shamed his rival during a Twitch live stream.

He said: ”In Body Issue he didn’t even have any abs, I can tell you that.”

Mr Koepka got the last laugh, posting a picture of his four major trophies alongside a caption which said: “You were right Bryson DeChambeau I am 2 short of a 6 pack.”
