Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, previously dubbed the ‘Fab Four’, are expected to travel to New York just days apart this year to take part in separate engagements. But a “fluffy reunion” between the two couples is unlikely to be on the cards as the Prince and Princess of Wales are likely to do “everything in their power” to distance themselves from the Sussexes, a royal reporter has claimed.
William and Kate are set to cross the pond to take part in the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit on December 2 in Boston.
The trip, which will mark the Wales’ first US venture since 2014, will see William address the impacts of climate change and award winners who are working towards sustainability solutions.
Meanwhile, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be just a few hours away, in New York City, days later, for the Ripple of Hope Awards Gala on December 6, where they are expected to receive an honour.
The organisation said the pair, along with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, have been named this year’s laureates.
However, following their trip to Boston, Kate and William are expected to take a quick trip to New York to enjoy the festivities in the run-up to Christmas.
Both couple’s schedules align almost perfectly, causing many to speculate whether they will reunite.
But royal expert Kinsey Schofield told Express.co.uk the brothers and their respective partners are unlikely to meet while in the States.
She said: “I really don’t think a fluffy reunion is on the horizon.

“There is too much mystery surrounding Harry and Meghan’s book and Netflix project. The Prince and Princess of Wales will likely do everything in their power to distance themselves from the California couple.
“They will want to keep the focus on Earthshot and quickly return home to their family for the holidays.
“This will be their first Christmas as a family without Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles is preparing to honour their traditions this holiday season.”
Prince Harry’s “intimate and heartfelt memoir” is set to be released in the near future – though the release date is yet to be confirmed.
The anticipation surrounding the contents of the book is one reason Prince William and Kate are likely to keep their distance from Harry and Meghan, Pauline MacLaren, royal author and lecturer at Royal Holloway, told Express.co.uk.
She said: “There’s a lot of speculation about a reunion between the ‘Fab Four’ when William and Kate visit the US in December. However, I return to the good old days of the foursome have long since passed in my view.
“There may be some attempt at a show of unity if schedules permit but I doubt if this will run very deep in repairing the brothers’ relationship until the contents of Harry’s intended memoir are revealed.”
