Woman dead after OAP loses control of car and crashes into pedestrians outside pub

    Police were called to Haddon Hall Road shortly after 12pm following reports a man in his 70s lost control of his vehicle and collided with three pedestrians. Paramedics raced to the incident this afternoon, but despite their best efforts a female pedestrian died at the scene, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

    Two other women have been rushed to hospital and their injuries are described as “serious”.

    A spokesperson for GMP said: “Officers were called at around 12.15pm today to Haddon Hall Road where it is believed that a man in his 70s lost control of his vehicle and collided with three pedestrians.

    “Emergency services attended but despite the best efforts of paramedics a woman – the pedestrian – was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

    “Two further female pedestrians have been taken to hospital with serious injuries.”
