Allison Langdon reveals the unexpected twist in how she met husband

Allison Langdon has been married to husband Michael Willesee Jr for 13 years.

And the Today host revealed in a 2017 interview that when they first met, she was struck by such an ‘overwhelming physical attraction’ to him.

However, looking back on it, the 42-year-old suspects she may have actually been thinking about a different man.

Speaking to Show+Tell, Allison recalled how years after meeting Michael, she was at a party and friends asked them how they got together. 

She said she’d told her pals: ‘We were at a bar and I said this guy walked in, he had this red T-shirt and dark jeans… you know when you just had that moment where you have just like an overwhelming physical attraction to someone… I just got hit by this.’

‘I finished telling the story and Mike came up to me, and he goes, “I’ve never owned a red T-shirt!” she laughed.

Host Kate ‘Monty’ Dimond asked if she had recalled a different guy from that evening, and Allison replied: ‘I keep telling him that my soulmate is still out there!’

But the 60 Minutes presenter was adamant the man in the red shirt was her husband, saying: ‘It was him, it was absolutely him, but he said he was wearing a navy shirt that night.’

Allison and Michael, who is the son of late journalist Mike Willesee, went on to marry in Noosa, Queensland, in 2008.

They are now parents to two children, son Mack, four, and daughter Scout, three.

Michael used to be a journalist and TV producer but is now an executive at Westpac.

Meanwhile, Allison is set to host Channel Nine’s anticipated new series Parental Guidance alongside parenting expert Dr Justin Coulson. 

The show will see 10 sets of parents with different parenting styles – some controversial – put their methods to the test.
