Arsenal have five stars guaranteed to be in Mikel Arteta's starting XI next season

    Takehiro Tomiyasu

The deadline day signing from Bologna has made a great first impression, featuring predominantly at right-back but also boasting the ability to play in central defence.

Tomiyasu has shown plenty of intensity and aggression, two qualities which the Gunners had been missing as they stumbled to three successive defeats to kick off the campaign.

Part of the reason the Japan international’s spot can be deemed safe for next season in a lack of right-back alternatives.

The likes of Calum Chambers and Cedric Soares have been broadly unfancied by Arteta, and having just splashed £16million on Tomiyasu, it is unlikely that they would venture back into the market so soon.
