Barcelona are believed to have sacked Ronald Koeman and will make an official announcement soon following their defeat to Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.
Sport say a statement is being prepared by the Catalan club while Mundo Deportivo claim Koeman has already been axed with confirmation pending.
Club legend Koeman’s tenure ends after 67 matches with Radamel Falcao’s goal the final nail in the coffin for the Dutchman.
Barca also suffered defeat to Real Madrid at the Nou Camp in El Clasico last weekend and now sit ninth in La Liga, six points off their fierce rivals.
On top of winning just four of 10 league matches, Barca were hammered 3-0 by Bayern Munich and Benfica in the Champions League group stages.
After a narrow home win over Dynamo Kiev, they sit third in the group but are likely to need to win two of their final three games to progress to the knockout rounds and avoid an ignominious drop into the Europa League.
Barca won the Copa del Rey under Koeman but crashed out of the Champions League in the last 16 to Paris Saint-Germain while Atletico Madrid won the league by finishing two points above them.
Roberto Martinez is the bookies’ favourite to replace Koeman with club icon Xavi Hernandez an alternative option.
