    Dakota Johnson dons a chic grey suit while Paul Mescal opts for pink trousers as they attend screening of The Lost Daughter in Los Angeles


    Dakota Johnson and Paul Mescal looked stylish as they attended the screening of The Lost Daughter at Film Independent in Los Angeles on Sunday. 

    The film, which is Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directorial debut, stars the two actors and also has Olivia Colman in the lead role.  

    The Fifty Shades Of Grey star, 32, opted for a chic oversized grey suit which she paired with black slip on heels.

    Dakota’s natural beauty was enhanced by her subtle make up look which consisted of bright pink lip gloss and a hint of eye shadow. 

    Paul, 25, meanwhile cut a fashionable figure as he wore light pink trousers with a blue and white stripy shirt. 

    His brown hair had been cut into a mullet and he kept it comfortable in white trainers.

    The Normal People star, who confirmed his relationship with Pheobe Bridgers on the red carpet in LA this month,  also wore his statement chain round his neck. 

    The pair later posed with Maggie, who looked chic in a blue patterned two piece consisting of a button up shirt and maxi skirt. 

    Peter Sarsgaard also appeared in the photo wearing a blue jumper and black trousers.

    The flick follows Leda (played by Olivia) on a beach holiday when the trip takes a unexpected dark turn and has to confront her past. 

    Development on The Lost Daughter began in 2018 when it was announced that Maggie had acquired the rights to the project.

    The feature was based on Elena Ferrante’s 2006 novel of the same name, which was originally published under the title La figlia oscura.

    In addition to directing the feature, the Hank actress penned its screenplay and served as one of its producers.

    Principal photography on the project began in the latter part of September, with Greece serving as a primary filming location.

    The feature eventually had its premiere at the 78th Venice International Film Festival, where Gyllehnaal was given the Golden Osella Award for Best Screenplay.

    The Lost Daughter received overwhelmingly positive reviews upon its release, and it currently has a rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes.

    The feature is currently set to make its wide debut on the Netflix streaming service on December 31st.
