At least eight people have died along the 200km long land bored between Belarus and Poland, mostly from the cold and exhaustion.

Migrants began setting up camps along the border with Belarus soldiers reportedly handing out water and wood to make fires.

Latvia deployed a further 3,000 troops over the weekend to deal with the crisis and EU’s Borrell has urged Warsaw to allow humanitarian aid on the frontier, where Poland has deployed some 20,000 police, border guards and soldiers.
