‘It will feature rare footage and interviews with several people who were at the controls that night in Houston, including NFL and MTV executives, to reconstruct an incident that shook the country and explain how it shaped culture in the decades to follow,’ according to Deadline.

Celebrity stylist Wayne Scot Lukas told Page Six in April that Justin was so jealous of ex Britney Spears VMA’s show where she kissed Madonna that he wanted to completely outshine her, and Timberlake ‘insisted on doing something bigger than their performance. He wanted a reveal.’

The reveal turned out to be Janet’s breast, which, after the fact, turned into a he-said-she-said of what should have been shown at the end of the song when Justin ripped off a patch of Janet’s Alexander McQueen costume.

‘I wouldn’t call it a wardrobe “malfunction” in a million years,’ Lukas said. ‘It was the most functioning wardrobe in history. As a stylist, it did what it was intended to do.’

The incident, which was aptly coined Nipplegate, was broadcast to approximately 150million households through MTV and its Viacom network.

Janet was subsequently blacklisted from the industry, with her singles and music videos banned from television and radio airwaves.

In addition to her career almost careening to a full stop, Janet was forced to apologize for the incident on a major media tour while Justin was left relatively unscathed.

The Federal Communications Commission reportedly registered nearly 540,000 complaints, with the Parents Television Council responsible for 65,000 of them.

‘Janet has already forgiven Justin in private. They made their peace a long time ago,’ Lukas told Page Six.

‘I’ll never throw her under the bus,’ he added about Jackson. ‘She’s my friend and is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever worked for. There’s nothing shady about her.’
