‘I wish we had more of a friendship. That was probably a lot to do with me not making as much of an effort as I should have,’ Agena began.

‘I also think I was so — worried is the wrong word — but, you know, they worked so many hours that their off-set time, I thought, was so precious to them and I didn’t want to insert myself into that time of their lives,’ Agena added.

She also said that Bledel is, ‘such a wonderful person,’ adding that right when she met her, ‘you just recognize that she’s an intelligent, special individual.’

Agena continued there was a part of her, ‘that felt protective of her right away as a fellow actor and someone that recognizes how unique of a person she is.’

‘I think some of that is just instinctual and I think that probably shows in how our characters related to each other that we like and respect each other right off the bat,’ Agena added.

Agena and Patterson were also joined by Adam Brody, who played Dave Rygalski in the series, who commented some fans wanted Lane and Dave to be together.

‘Some people wanted our characters to end up together and they did not. Shame,’ Brody said, with Agena responding, ‘In another universe.’

‘We were so lucky to have you for whatever amount of time. We knew it when you were there that it was great,’ Agena said.

Brody left the show in 2003, after he landed the role of Seth Cohen on the hit series The O.C.

Brody also reflected on his time on the show, adding, ‘There was something so cozy and old-fashioned about it.’

‘There was something thrilling to me. … The Connecticut of it all or wherever Stars Hollow was supposed to be,’ he said.

‘You’re in sweaters and stuff too. It’s very Christmas, kind of Hallmark-y,’ Brody added.
