In the photo, a radiant Kelly is seen beaming into the camera while sticking out her tongue as she holds up her cake.

She donned a white and black polka dot shirt, gold earrings and a gold and emerald necklace, while her signature purple locks were styled into cute plaited buns.

She wrote alongside her selfie: ‘Today marks my 37th birthday and I’m 5 months sober!!! I am filled with so much gratitude it’s almost overwhelming!’

In the next slide, she shared an image from a Twelve Steps to recovery programme, which showed that she had been sober for five months.

Kelly’s post garnered a plethora of congratulatory and supportive messages from her fans and showbiz pals.

Kelly previously admitted that her drug and alcohol addiction began when she was a teen and growing up in the spotlight as the youngest daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne.

The reality star sat down for an interview on the Facebook Watch series Red Table Talk where she detailed the origins of her substance abuse issues and recent relapse from sobriety during the pandemic.

Kelly, who starred on her family’s MTV show for four seasons between 2002-05, admitted her opiod addiction began when she was prescribed Vicodin after an operation to remove her tonsils when she was 13.

‘That was all I needed,’ she told hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, her daughter, Willow Smith, and her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris.

The former Fashion Police star said the drug silenced her insecurities and ‘It felt like life gave me a hug’, with Jada responding: ‘Vicodin will do that.’

Kelly added that Vicodin led to her misusing Percocet to eventually heroin ‘because it was cheaper.’

‘I was alone, sitting by a pool and waiting for somebody to come have a meeting with me. And I saw this woman and her husband had a glass of champagne. It looked really nice and I was like, “I can do that, too,”‘ she said. ‘And the next day, I had two glasses. And the day after that, it was bottles.’

She told The Sun: ‘But it went from having one drink here, one drink there to literally three bottles of champagne and 24 White Claws a day.’

On her podcast, The Kelly Osbourne and Jeff Beacher Show, Osbourne said that she would sip out of a large ‘coffee mug that said, “Thank God I’m not dead” which is so ironic.’

The Osbournes star spoke with Extra late last month about the relapse, which came amid the lockdown as things were opening back up again.

‘I’m that girl that when everything is going great I need to f*** it up a little and make everything a little bit worse in my life,’ said Kelly, whose parents are Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne.

‘I am an addict and had thought that I had enough time under my belt and I could drink like a normal person, and it turns out I cannot and I will never be normal.’

Kelly said that in hindsight, she doesn’t know why she experimented in the first place.

‘It took me a matter of days and I was like done, not doing this,’ said Osbourne, who has had multiple rehab stints in an effort to shake her addiction. ‘This is something I am going to battle for the rest of my life. It’s never going to be easy.’
