Liverpool January transfers: Four urgent deals Michael Edwards must start work on now

    Another attacking option

Bowen may be the main attacking target for Liverpool in January, but an alternative option may also need to be signed.

Takumi Minamino appears out of favour and Divock Origi has shown glimpses that he can step in when required.

But Liverpool are still short of quality back-up options should more than one of their star forwards suffer an injury.

To compete with the likes of Manchester City for the title, that just won’t be enough this season.

    Sell Oxlade-Chamberlain for funds

It’s likely that Liverpool will need to sell one or even two squad players to help raise funds and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain may be the most obvious choice.

While he’s currently getting game time at Liverpool, he’s struggled to impress on a regular basis.

With just 18 months left on his contract, now might be the best time to sell the 28-year-old with plenty of clubs bound to be interested if he stays fit.
