Amanda Holden looked radiant as ever as she stepped onto the set of Neighbours.

The media personality, 50, has landed a role on the Australian soap and is filming in London alongside Jason Donovan’s daughter, Jemma, who plays Harlow Robinson.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, Amanda gave fans a glimpse at her posh character as she spoke on the phone.

‘Oh hello operator, Ramsay St please,’ she said in an upper crust accent, referring to the famous street where the show’s characters reside.

Amanda captioned the post: ‘Everybody needs good @neighbours Back on set tomorrow with the gorgeous @jemma_donovan’.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge looked incredible for the day of filming as she donned a pink short sleeved midi dress.

Although the show takes place in Australia, Amanda is filming all of her scenes from London.

While she is now known for her work with Heart Radio and Britain’s Got Talent,  Amanda is an accomplished actress with roles in Wild at Heart, The Grimleys  and Cutting It.

Amanda said in a statement: ‘Like most people in the UK who were around in the late Eighties and early Nineties, I grew up watching Neighbours every single day.

‘I was glued to our TV for the wedding of Kylie [Minogue] and Jason [Donovan], while cursing Mrs Mangel [Vivean Gray] and praying that Mike and Jane [Guy Pearce and Jane Harris] would eventually get together! Not to mention all the other greats over the years.

‘To now have the opportunity to be a part of such an iconic Australian show is simply fabulous. I can’t wait to work with Jemma in London. This feels like a joyous occasion for everyone.’

On the show, Jemma’s character Harlow will jet to the UK in the hope of figuring out a mystery about her late mother, Prue, who was played by Denise Van Outen.

Amanda is said to be filming scenes around London next week, with the scenes airing on Channel 5 in spring.

However, there are fears the iconic Aussie soap could be cancelled, after an already troubled year caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Last month, the production company behind the hit TV show, Fremantle Media, told ABC that changes to local content quotas could spell the death for the residents of Ramsey Street.

‘I think in the free-to-air environment Neighbours could most certainly be at risk if the quotas [for Australian content] were to change,’ chief executive Chris Oliver-Taylor said.

The long-running drama was forced to halt production earlier this year at the beginning of the health crisis.

At the time, commercial broadcasters – who are governed by strict rules and must show 55 percent of locally made content – pleaded for a reprieve as they saw their revenue and ratings plunge.

The federal government threw the struggling networks a temporary lifeline by suspending the quotas for locally produced drama, documentaries and children’s shows.

Review of the quotas has been placed on hold – with an option to extend the suspension if needed through 2021.

However, the networks are now calling for a permanent change, claiming the old rules are ‘outdated’.

Oliver Taylor explained this could mean death for many shows.
