She said: “While Prince Philip loved babies, the Queen has always preferred being around children when they are a bit older, especially if it involves teaching them to sit astride a horse.
“Princess Charlotte—who is pony-mad—has always been a favourite.
“The Duchess of Cambridge revealed that when she was born, the Queen ‘was really thrilled’ she was a girl.”
Princess Charlotte, six, is set to acquire a new Royal Family title when Prince Charles becomes king, according to The List.
The young royal will become Princess Charlotte and Cambridge and Cornwall.
The List said: “When her grandfather Charles becomes King, Charlotte will add to her title.
“Prince William’s only daughter will become Princess Charlotte of Cornwall and Cambridge.
“When William is elevated to Prince of Wales, she will become Charlotte of Wales.
