The Block’s Tanya Guccione broke her media silence to speak to The Kyle and Jackie O Show on Tuesday, only for radio host Kyle Sandilands to call her purple hair ‘ugly’.
And a day after the awkward interview, an old video has resurfaced of the 40-year-old hair and makeup artist showing how she achieves her signature look.
The reality TV ‘villain’ revealed all her tips and tricks in a new YouTube clip which was originally shared in May 2019, and how she perfects her wavy hair look.

‘People ask me all the time how I style it and how I get the waves… it’s pretty easy, much easier with short hair,’ Tanya says in the clip.
‘When it comes to hair, I think the messier and the more undone the better,’ she said.
Tanya began by using a Evy hair straightener, which retails for upwards of $179, at 210 degrees.

Tanya then started doing the ‘zig zag’ technique with her hair straightener to get curls and brushed them out.
She made sure to straighten the ends of her hair to ‘give it more of a modern look’.
Tanya said she doesn’t like using many products in her hair but loves the Kevin Murphy Doo Over spray, a finishing hair spray, which retails for $42.95.
‘It’s dry and matte and not too heavy and just lifts your hair from the roots,’ she explained.

It comes after Tanya’s interview with Kyle and Jackie O went off the rails when radio host Kyle Sandilands made fun of her trademark purple hair and she appeared to hang up the phone.
‘I thought the scandal part was excellent,’ Kyle, 50, said of the cheating saga. ‘Now, what are you going to do with that ugly hair? Are you getting rid of that purple-ness?’
‘Oh, that’s not nice!’ his co-host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson responded. ‘Have you got the purple hair still?’
The phone line then went silent, and Kyle whispered: ‘She must have been offended… I think she cut out, mate.’

Tanya, 40, who has worked as a hair and makeup artist for years, later resumed the interview and blamed the disruption on technical difficulties.
It’s unclear if this was actually the case, however, because it sounded as if she hung up or passed the phone to someone else.
Regardless of what happened, she didn’t seem to be angry when she returned to the phone, telling the hosts: ‘I’m back, I just lost you right at the juicy part.’
Kyle was a little kinder for the rest of the interview, and told Tanya he only suggested she change her hair so she’s less recognisable in public.
