    Jenna Dewan mourns the ‘sudden loss’ of her dog Violet: ‘Our hearts are broken today’

    Jenna Dewan posted a sad and beautiful tribute to her dog Violet Mae on Instagram on Friday, after the ‘sudden loss’ of the animal the evening prior.

    The Step Up star, 40, uploaded a gallery of sweet photos with the beloved pooch, next to a long and heartfelt caption.

    The images saw Jenna and the pit bull mix kissing, along with a beautiful photo of Violet posing with Dewan’s partner Steve Kazee.

    Other snaps showed the dog lounging in bed, along with one where she was licking Jenna‘s face mask in the sunshine. 

    ‘Our hearts are broken today as we mourn the sudden loss of our Violet Mae,’ the mother of two wrote in the caption for her 6.5 million Instagram followers.

    ‘Violet was the sweetest lady i ever knew, the best sneaky kisser in the world and the calm amongst the chaos always,’ she continued. 

    ‘Everyone who met you loved you and it is one the greatest privileges of my life to have had the last few years with you. The bond you and Steve shared comes around once in a lifetime and our entire family misses you beyond words.

    ‘I am holding on to the owl we saw on our porch last night right after you passed being a sign of your wise beautiful soul flying high. I love you my sweet Vi Vi,’ Jenna concluded, adding a prayer hands emoji.

    Jenna and Steve are parents to son Callum Michael Rebel, who is one year old.

    She and the Broadway actor have been dating since 2018, and are currently engaged.

    Dewan also shares an eight year old little girl, Everly, with her ex-husband Channing Tatum.

    The pair met on the set of Step Up back in 2006, before marrying in 2009.

    They divorced in 2019.
