The Hills: New Beginnings: Kaitlynn Carter finally tells Brody Jenner she's pregnant

Kaitlynn Carter finally revealed to her ex Brody Jenner that she’s pregnant with new boyfriend Kristopher Brock.

Carter had been with Jenner for five years before they split in 2019, and when the whole group gathered for a ‘wellness retreat’ in Palm Springs, set up by Spencer and Heidi Pratt, Carter knew she had to tell Jenner the news. 

The Pratt’s set up the wellness retreat as a way to ‘heal’ with the whole group, but it’s clear that they were not all on the same page, with Ashley Wahler and Jason Wahler questioning why they were there at all.

The previous episode wrapped with Carter revealing to friend Caroline D’Amore that she was pregnant, just after revealing she had moved in with Brock.

While D’Amore knew, the rest of the cast didn’t, though it wouldn’t take long for the cat to be out of the bag, before even telling anyone officially.

The episode began with the group getting ready for their ‘PrattDaddy retreat’ in Palm Springs, with Carter revealing that Brock was coming on the second day of the trip.

‘It’s not that I’ve been trying to keep Chris away from hanging out with the group. Although I definitely do feel protective of our relationship. And I want him to be comfortable before I introduced him to a bunch of crazy people,’ Carter said in confessional. 

‘But we’re having a baby. I mean, I just feel like this is the right time,’ she added. 

Caroline says it’s, ‘kind of crazy’ that Kaitlyn Carter is pregnant and she hopes to talk to Brody about her being pregnant and she wants to tell him before everyone else.

‘I’ve been intentionally putting it off. Nobody likes difficult conversations,’ she said, adding that having kids was, ‘a big point of contention’ in their relationship.

Before she could talk to Brody, or anyone, really, her mere presence – with much larger breasts – had everyone talking and speculating if she’s pregnant.

Justin Brescia and Audrina Patridge noticed Kaitlynn’s boobs are bigger, and they already figured it out.

‘Come on, Kaitlyn, just tell us,’ Audrina says in confession.

Justin tells Kaitlynn that surprises are the theme of the trip, with Justin saying that they are on a ‘heightened friendship’ and they have ‘unspoken truths,’ adding, ‘She knew that I knew.’

Kaitlyn adds that she appreciated no one saying anything and giving her the time to tell Brody, adding, ‘It feels like one final nail in the coffin.’

She adds he seems to be having a good time so she doesn’t want it to get weird, and ultimately doesn’t tell him that night… but it turns out he already knew.

While having some drinks with Audrina and Joey Tierney, Brody tells Audrina that he knows, ‘Kaitlyn is pregnant, and I don’t know from her.’

In confession, Brody says, ‘a baby was such a big part of our relationship’ and while he doesn’t think he should be the first to know, ‘I should be in the top 10.’

Kaitlynn tells Justin that she hopes he’s OK with it, but Brody tells Audrina and Joey that he’s ‘hurt’ that she hasn’t told him.

The next day, the Pratt’s bring a pair of healers – Rachel and Gitte – to help the group move past their issues, with the group sensing some tension with Brody.

The group – sans Kaitlynn, who was meeting Kristopher in her room – were told to write things they don’t want in their life on plates, before breaking the plates on the ground to get these things out of their lives.

Brody put, ‘fake people,’ on his plate, though he stressed that he loved everyone in the group, though he said he wants fake people out of his life before breaking the plate.

Audrina said, ‘I’m picking up on aggro vibes on Brody and it feels a little bit like a dig at Kaitlynn.’

While the group went golfing, back at the La Quinta resort, Kaitlynn is laying out by the pool as Caroline comes by with her boyfriend Ryan.

Caroline says it was an ‘intense moment’ and tells Kaitlynn about smashing the plates, telling her Brody wants to get rid of ‘fake people,’ as Kaitlynn says, ‘I wonder who he’s referring to.’

Kaitlynn says she needs to ‘be an adult’ and ‘meet this head on,’ as Brody and some others return along with Spencer and Heidi.

Brody orders a few rounds of drinks for everyone, when Kaitlynn asks for a ‘soda water one’ before finally pulling him aside to talk.

Kaitlynn and Brody go on a balcony to talk as Audrina and Jen talk about how awkward the situation is.

Kaitlynn thinks it won’t be a big deal and Brody says, ‘Are you sure?’ as Kaitlynn says Brody and Kris do a lot of the same stuff.

‘I guess I really do have a type,’ Kaitlynn says. ‘You are an important person in my life and it’s not like you have to hang out all the time, but I want there to be a harmony.’

She says she hasn’t been able to enjoy the trip and Brody asks if she has a surprise for him and she tells him that she’s pregnant… though his response will be revealed next episode.

Kaitlynn isn’t the only cast member who is expecting, though, with Heidi fairly sure she’s pregnant as well.

The episode opens with the Pratt’s preparing for their getaway, as Spencer asks Heidi if she wants him not to drink on the trip because she’s not drinking, since she thinks she’s pregnant again.

She doesn’t want him to not drink because of her, and they think it could be a new beginning for the whole group.

Spencer asks if they are ‘saging’ the whole group and she says they’re definitely doing that, though not everyone is pumped for the ‘wellness retreat.’

Brandon says in confession the last time he was on a ‘wellness retreat’ was when he was in Utah getting sober for 45 days, but he’s there to play golf and hopes it’s a ‘nice distraction.’

Audrina says they’re not, ‘going for the Pratts but they’re going for ‘everyone else.’

Heidi says she wants to simplify her life and her energy right now and her biggest priority is her new baby.

The rest of the group all admit that it’s ‘weird’ and ‘awkward’ without addressing everything that Spencer and Stephanie did in the past.

Heidi says she’s glad they can all be together as they all do a ‘sound bath’ together, with Spencer adding, ‘even a hater is gonna be into a sound bath.’

However, in confession, Brandon makes it clear he doesn’t believe in crystals, saying, ‘I’m just taking a nap with some cool noises on. A nap isn’t going to make anything better.’

Brandon is asked about Dani when he reveals they broke up, saying they were ‘fighting through a lot of s**t,’ and it had to do with her past.

Brandon said he was transparent about his past, ‘and that’s what the problem was.’

Brody arrives late, stating the, ‘traffic was insane,’ as everyone comments on Kaitlyn’s boobs, as Brandon asks if they can see.

Brody and Justin’s hair is quite similar as Ashley and Jason arrive along with the hosts Spencer and Heidi.

Spencer brought out two healers from the desert to ‘heal’ the whole group, though it annoys Brandon.

‘You’ve gotta keep that voodoo s**t away from me. 99% of the time, anything they’re saying is the most vague s**t in the world,’ Brandon says.

‘Everyone in L.A. is like, ‘What is your rising moon?’ Shut up!’ Brandon says.

One of the healers says this whole ‘universe adores you because you are fantastic.’

Another healer tells Justin he has a ‘white’ aura around him, which he thinks is his late mother.

The healers ask everyone to write one thing they want to happen during this retreat.

At dinner, Ashley wishes someone would take responsibility and own up to stuff.

Brody says he’s very happy for Kaitlyn as they all wonder if Kaitlyn is pregnant or not, while Stephanie thinks she’s ‘more pregnant’ now.

Brody thinks it’s great they’re taking this pregnancy seriously and that she shouldn’t stress about it, before they head to bed because she’s, ‘feeling nauseous.’

One of the few tender moments of the episode happened just before Kaitlynn talked with Brody, when Heidi took their young son Gunnar swimming, while Spencer filmed it all.

Gunnar starts crying in the pool and when Spencer asks what’s wrong, he says, ‘I want you to help me.’

Spencer hopes that Heidi is pregnant because Gunnar is the best thing in their lives.

The preview for the next episode teases that Ashley and Jason want ‘clarity’ and Kaitlynn introduces Brody to Kris for the first time.
